It’s Okay to Miss the Things That Hurt

it's okay to miss the things that hurt
This is your reminder that it’s absolutely okay to miss certain toxic relationships, your sick body, your drug of choice, or anything else that hurt. We can’t always control our feelings, and the truth is, whatever it was probably didn’t always hurt. It was serving a purpose in our lives and now thankfully we’ve moved on, but we may still long for the past. Use those feelings to acknowledge any needs that should be fulfilled and seek out any of the positive feelings in other ways. Missing it absolutely does not mean you need to go back to it.

There is nothing wrong with you for continuing to miss the things that hurt you.

  1. I’m glad that you and some others realise that. Too many people expect you to forget things that have been life changing but painful.
