Sure, we know all the tips and tricks for fooling our bodies into being satisfied with an apple when we really want the cake. But the truth is, you’re not tricking your body.
Our bodies are smarter than we give them credit for. When we are truly craving something, either physically or emotionally, a substitute just will not do. We’re still going to want the cake after we finish the apple, even if we’re no longer hungry.
When you let yourself savor the first few bites of your cake, you’ll likely notice that’s all you need. Then if you’re hungry you eat an apple. End of story. No further tricks necessary.
Today, practice listening to your body and treating it like the wise creation it is. Give it what it needs. Whether that’s food, sleep, fun, or stimulation. Stop trying to trick your body.
