Anger can be a safe feeling. It doesn’t always need to lead to yelling, aggressiveness, hitting, or eating. It can lead to healing. It’s okay to get angry, and it’s often necessary.
It’s okay to eat. It’s okay to keep eating even when you should be full. Even when you’re not sure if you’re hungry, but you want to keep eating. It’s okay.
Snacks are such an important way to get additional nutrition in between meals and satisfy your hunger. They’re especially important for people who need to eat small, frequent meals (which is pretty much anyone with any GI issues). As of late, these peanut butter banana bread energy bars are my favorite snacks to bring to work. I’ve even brought them hiking on my trip to Maine and they held up well.
Common scenario: you’re getting ready for the day and you’ve got a cute top on, but when you go to slip on your pants, you can barely button them up. They may be cutting into your waist, unable to close, and just plain too tight. Regardless of where you are with your body image, this moment of being too expansive for your clothing can set off internal panic. You wonder what happened between this moment and the last time you wore these pants? Did you expand that much in one week? Why do you still even care about these things? One simple trigger has the potential to ruin your whole day if you let it.
Here’s your reminder to take up as much space as you need or want. Take up space with your physical body, with your voice, and with your thoughts and ideas. The world has plenty of room for you.
No one has it 100% together, but most people only post when they do. So remember that that “perfect” person you idolize (or maybe loathe), is probably not so perfect after all.
