Sugar Sweetened Beverages are Not the Root of All Evil

Sugar sweetened beverages including soda, juice, iced tea, sports drinks, and energy drinks are not the root cause of the so-called “obesity epidemic” or increasing rates of diabetes. Not Every Ailment Can Be Cured By Eliminating Foods From the Diet

Some ailments and illnesses absolutely can be cured or managed by eliminating certain foods from the diet. And by eliminating these foods, if quality of life is improved, then you should absolutely stick with it.

Lent is Not An Excuse to Diet

If you’re giving up a food item because you don’t feel you have the “willpower” to do it any other way or if you would have given it up anyway, but Lent is giving you a social excuse to cut out the food- don’t do it!

No One Simply Starts a Diet and Then Lives Happily Ever After

Diets suck you in because they work at first, but then they stop working and you have to put in more time and effort and eventually it consumes your entire life.

Healthy Eating is Flexible

Healthy eating includes all foods at all times. It’s about eating what you want when you want, while also eating to properly nourish your body. Healthy eating is a form of self care, not self punishment.

Craving

No amount of food will ever fill the gaping void inside of you when it stems from discontent, anger, loneliness, boredom, sadness, frustration, etc. Deal with the feelings. Get your needs met. Food is not the answer to all of life’s problems.
