This holiday can definitely be challenging for those recovering from an eating disorder or chronic dieting since it is so centered around food, so here is your reminder that Thanksgiving is one 24 hour day and one meal and it will not make or break your recovery.

Even When Life is Stressful, You Still Need to Eat

Sometimes when you’re stressed, it’s easier just not to eat, but that’s exactly what you need to do when you’re stressed! Eating consistently throughout the day will help keep your blood sugar levels stable, keep your hormones in check, and help stave off “hangry” feelings.

You do Not Need to Earn Your Food

Food is not something we need to earn by working out or “being good”. Food is fuel and essential to life. Food is a basic human need. By saying we need to “earn” food, that essentially says when we do not work out that day, we should not be allowed to eat. Yikes!

Expensive water which claims to solve all of your problems? Probably a good idea to pass on that!

A Weight Loss Challenge is Not Going to Heal Your Relationship with Food
