Finding a Voice in Eating Disorder Recovery Interview

I so enjoyed speaking with Jamie Magdic of Side by Side Nutrition about finding my voice in eating disorder recovery. In Jamie’s YouTube video series, she asks recovered clinicians what was the one thing that helped them most in their eating disorder recovery. It was challenging to think of only one thing, but after some contemplation, I wanted to speak to the idea of finding your voice in eating disorder recovery and giving yourself back the power to make choices that align with your values and in finding your true and authentic self.

Take a listen and let me know if what Jamie and I discussed resonates with you and your eating disorder recovery!

I didn’t note this in the interview, but I am speaking about my experience of recovery in the video as a thin, white, cis-gendered woman with multiple other privileges. In the end of this interview when I say how I don’t think about my eating disorder now, it’s largely because I don’t have to think about how my body fits in or can keep me safe on a daily basis because of my un-earned privileges.
