Christina Frangione, MS, RD, CDN, RYT is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in Centerport, NY helping clients with eating disorders and disordered eating recover their relationship with food and their body. She utilizes a Health at Every Size® approach and supports Intuitive Eating and knows that while she is the food and nutrition expert, you are the expert of your body and life.
Beginning today, 3/16/20, I will be shifting all of my 1:1 nutrition counseling services at my Centerport office to virtual in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Sessions will be conducted via HIPAA compliant video conferencing or telephone without video.
Your eating disorder is valid even if you don’t have dramatic before and after pictures.
Your eating disorder is valid even if you didn’t lose weight.
Your eating disorder is valid even if no one noticed you were struggling.
Your eating disorder is valid if you recovered into a fat body.
If you feel like you failed eating disorder treatment, but know that what actually failed you was a treatment program designed fundamentally for a young, well off, white, able bodied, thin woman, I see you.
One of the misconceptions about anti-diet dietitians is that we dislike all diets and all people who diet. This, of course is just not true. Being anti-diet is being anti- diet culture and anti- oppression of people who feel the only way they can be accepted in society is to punish their bodies endlessly with restrictive diets.
