It’s National Eating Disorder Awareness week and that means a lot of people are posting their before and after photos of when they were at their sickest vs in recovery. Often, these pictures show emaciated befores and still relatively thin afters. It totally misses the point that most people don’t have a dramatic before and after and a lot of people don’t recover to thin bodies. Eating disorders exist in all size bodies and not everyone loses significant amounts of weight when they are struggling the most.
Your eating disorder is valid even if you don’t have dramatic before and after pictures.
Your eating disorder is valid even if you didn’t lose weight.
Your eating disorder is valid even if no one noticed you were struggling.
Your eating disorder is valid if you recovered into a fat body.
