Recovery from an eating disorder is so much more nuanced than just being able to eat cupcakes and ice cream! Although that’s certainly nice to be able to have these things and not freak out or need to compensate afterwards!
When we simplify it down to being able to eat a select category of foods, we leave a lot of people out because we leave a lot of issues out. Eating disorders are not just about food and recovery is not just about food either!
I would invite providers especially to diversify their messaging and use their platforms to bring about real change.
