Expensive Alkaline Water is Not Going to Solve All of Your Problems

expensive water isnt going to solve all of your problems

I met with a client recently who reported she was desperate to lose weight and had signed up for a $99 per month subscription to a local health center which provided pH balanced water and some other services. She was busy (and on a fixed budget) and wasn’t able to participate in any of the other included services. So she was essentially paying almost 100 dollars per month for water when she already had access to free clean water. Curious, I asked her if she felt the water was helping with any of the conditions she had hoped it would help with. She reported that she felt no difference, other than the fact that she felt like at least she was doing something for her health.

Yuck! This is diet culture in action when it sells us products and services we do not need which have no health benefits and prey on our vulnerabilities. Expensive water which claims to solve all of your problems? Probably a good idea to pass on that! A better idea? See an experienced registered dietitian who won’t buy into diet culture or try to sell you on any fads. Are you in the Centerport, New York area or looking for a virtual nutrition coach?
