We’re almost to the end of January, which for many people might mean they can give up on their January “new year, new me” clean eating or whatever diet they tried for the first 31 days of the new year. People go on this cleanse for many different reasons, however if the reason you started this new diet was to improve your relationship with food, I have a sneaking suspicion that it isn’t going to work. Especially if you’ve spent the past few weeks planning what you’re going to eat the first day you’re “free”. Likely this “cheat meal” isn’t going to look like your typical meal. It might even look like a binge for some people. Does this sound helpful to your relationship with food?
So how do you actually improve your relationship with food if not with a restrictive diet, elimination diet, or cleanse? It might be time to see an intuitive eating dietitian.
