Check in With Your Friends Using This Time to Get Healthier

check in with your friends using this time to get healthier

Check in with your friends (and especially your kids) using this time during lockdown to get “healthier”.

This intention, while usually innocent, can very often lead to disordered eating or even eating disorders (or relapse of an existing ED). One of the most common inquiry calls I receive is from parents of teenagers who started cutting out foods and increasing exercise to be “healthier”. The child begins to lose weight and soon they completely lose control of their behaviors and develop into a full blown eating disorder. (Stay tuned for a full blog post on this next week! Nutrition is not about good or bad and fitness is not about all or nothing. You can be healthier in body, mind, and spirit without making huge changes to your lifestyle or even changing the size of your body.
