No one diets for no reason. We do not wake up one day and decide to starve ourselves or restrict foods we normally enjoy. We diet for many different reasons. We may be trying to change our body because we’ve learned we’re not good as we are, we may think we’re going to treat or cure a disease, we may be coping with stress, or any other number of reasons.
I’ve compiled a list of 17 super easy meal ideas for you to make when you need food fast and with minimal effort. Feel free to add your own meal ideas and keep referring back to this list as needed. It can be a real life saver to have a list of your go-to meals available.
Sugar sweetened beverages including soda, juice, iced tea, sports drinks, and energy drinks are not the root cause of the so-called “obesity epidemic” or increasing rates of diabetes. Just like donuts and ice cream didn’t cause these “epidemics”, neither did simply drinking sugar sweetened beverages. There are so many factors involved and it’s completely oversimplifying a complicated matter and ignoring genetics, socioeconomic barriers, and environmental factors.
It’s Monday which means you might be thinking about starting something new like a new fitness routine. Maybe you were inspired by other peoples’ 5K or marathon pictures from the weekend. You may reason that running is just what people do to get and stay in shape. Or that it’s the activity you should choose if you’re just starting to exercise before you get on to the other activities you want to try. Or you think running is the only activity available to you that’s free and fits into your schedule.
But not everyone likes to run. And there’s absolutely no reason to try to force any activity you don’t enjoy.
Get the weight you were in high school or before kids or before major life changes out of your head. We’re meant to grow and change as we go through the seasons of our lives. It may require you to grieve the loss of your former body or your former weight, and that’s okay.

When your goal was to lose weight, an easy barometer of your success was the bathroom scale. The scale tells you whether you’re moving in the right direction, or whether you need to keep working harder towards your goal.
But what not that it isn’t about the weight? And therefore, not about the number on the scale.
